FIJI is breathtaking on the big screen, beautiful on the small.

Film Industry Assists Flood Victims
An Australian crew that has worked on productions in Fiji was saddened to see the suffering of the people in the areas affected by the floods in the North. Mike McLean, a Locations & Production Manager who has lived and worked in Fiji for a number of years, was instrumental in organizing a "collection drive" amongst the film crew who are now working on the Gold Coast. 300 kgs of clothing, bedding and linen were collected for distribution to victims of the floods through the Fiji Audio Visual Commission (FAVC) and to be distributed via the Red Cross.

Local freight company Williams & Gosling in conjunction with their Australian counterparts Mainfreight arranged to ship the donated items to Fiji, waiving all freight and clearance charges.

Commenting on this initiative, Taniela Bolea, Chief Executive Officer of the FAVC said, “The FAVC and the audio visual industry are pleased to be a part of this very worthy cause”. He added that the generosity of the Australian film crew in making these much needed donations will help many families as they try to rebuild their lives in these difficult times.
