12th April 2010 - Music and Dance are important components of the entertainment industry and are closely linked to the film industry. The FAVC in conjunction with the USP Oceania Dance Theatre organized a free training workshop for all schools participating in this year's competition which was held on Saturday 10th April, 2010 at the Suva Civic Centre Lower Hall.

The Dance competition is sponsored by Goodman Fielder  for all the 3 genres Bulawood, Bollywood and Hollywood and is named 'Tuckers Ice Cream Dance Competition'. At the workshop, students learnt the basics of choreography and the various tools to help them prepare for the competition which will be held on Friday 9th July.

Bulawood is aimed at encouraging schools to compose 5-minute mekes (these may be a modern dance with Fijian theme). Hollywood is aimed at encouraging rap/fusion dance performances and Bollywood is aimed at Indian dances.

Tuckers Ice-Cream provided dessert for the students while supporting sponsor Frezco Beverages supplied bottled water.

Over 160 students from 14 schools participated in this workshop.
