2009 TFL Kula Film Awards

The Awards are again being organized by the FAVC in association with the local audio visual industry and with the support of the Ministry of Education. This will be its fourth year running and is being staged in an expanded format.

The film competition will see the inclusion of an Open category inviting entries from amateur and professional filmmakers. The schools competition now includes two new Awards categories. All schools' entries will be judged for Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Most Popular Film, Best Script and Best Original Music Score. The latter two are the new categories aimed at enhancing writing and music compositions. All films will be shown on TV for public voting purposes. The Open category will be judged for 'Best Film' only.

The 2009 event will be held at the Tatterslas Leisure Centre on the 03th and 04th of July, 2009 which will also feature the Bollywood, Hollywood and Bulawood dance competitions.


2008 TFL Kula Film Awards.

The Fiji Audio Visual Industry organizes various projects to encourage the development of the local audio visual industry. One such project is the annual Kula Film Awards, sponsored by TFL. Kula Awards targets school students and through this, the FAVC:
  • expose students to the career opportunities in the industry
  • create awareness of the growth potential and opportunities in the industry for locals.
This is the third year of the Awards. It is organized with the local audio visual industry and with the Ministry of Education.

The 2008 event will be held on the 25th and 26th of July, 2008 which will also feature the Bollywood dance competition and also the Open Day.
