Labasa
Labasa is a hot, dusty sugar mill town entirely dependent upon sugarcane farming. The population consists mainly of Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs with their distinctive turbins. The surrounding countryside, covered with sugarcane and golden sunburnt hills also has volcanically sculpted black lava outcroppings in nearby Vunika. Labasa is the hometown to Survivor Fiji, which was shot in a nearby island in 2006.
